Prof Irena Sailer: Predicable treatment outcomes with digital diagnostics The comprehensive treatment of patients with multiple restorative problems can be a real challenge in daily clinical practice. Even more if the patient expectations are high, and esthetics is of pronounced relevance.  In order to coordinate the treatment sequences and for predictable, stable long-term outcomes, a structured approach to treatment planning and execution is of utmost importance. In this lecture the Geneva approach in treatment planning, pre-treatment diagnostics and communication, and definition of treatment goals using digital technologies and their predictable translation into clinics will be presented.  Learning objectives: - Learn to apply a structured step-by-step approach for patient case analysis - Understand the importance of pre-treatment diagnostics, and learn how digital technologies can improve the efficiency and communication of diagnostics – specifically in multi-disciplinary treatments - Learn how to predictably translate this goal into the clinics DMD MD PhD Istvan Urban: My Perspectives on Vertical and Horizontal Augmentation Vertical and horizontal augmentation presents one of the greatest challenges of bone regeneration in implant dentistry.  This is primarily due to the difficulty of the surgical procedure and its potential complications. However, it has been demonstrated that successful clinical outcomes can be predictably achievable when strict protocols are followed. The detailed understanding of clinical anatomy should guide the clinician when managing the soft tissue flaps in an attempt to securely close the flaps to achieve optimal healing environment of the graft. Graft immobilizations, the optimal use of graft materials are essential in achieving bone formation even in a distance from the bony walls. This presentation will summarize the essential steps of ridge augmentation and gives an insight how a clinician can learn these demanding procedures. Learning objectives: -Understand the surgical anatomy of the floor of the mouth -Learn the surgical principles of ridge augmentation surgery -Learn the tension free closure of the flaps after vertical ridge augmentation -Learn soft tissue reconstructions after ridge augmentation
